Robin's Bio

I began my musical studies at the young age of four with piano and then additionally took up the flute at age 10. I studied privately until the age of 18, and was involved in numerous competitions at the state and local level. I also taught music lessons during that time. Upon graduating from High School, I joined the United States Marine Band in San Diego, where I was the principle flute and piccolo player and section leader. Additionally, I played the keyboard in the Marine Band's Showband, which played music ranging from country to jazz to big band to funk.
After my time in the Marine Band, I taught music lessons while attending college in California and Florida. In total, I have taught private music lessons, mainly piano, for 20 years! While in Florida, I was the lead musician at my church where I played the piano, keyboard flute and occasionally the organ. Prior to moving to Colorado, I was an active member of in the praise band at my church, and now I periodically play on the worship team at the church we attend. Playing the piano or flute for weddings, special events or background music is also something I enjoy.
When I am not teaching or playing my instruments, you will likely find me running around after my three boys who definitely keep me on my toes! I also like hiking and outings with my family, biking, fitness, flower gardening, cooking and baking and staying busy with church activities and my friends. Never a dull moment, and that is okay with me!
